Easter Chickee

Thanks, Godma. Z really enjoyed this one. She plastered glue all over the picture.

Easter Blast April 19, 2012

On Easter Monday, we had a party which I organised with the help of many wonderful mums and dads. Z’s egg rolling competition turned into egg eating! She thought rolling that precious egg downhill was a waste so we ended up eating it amidst the furor.

Thank you, Godma. It was a very messy yet fun affair.

And this is…?

M: What’s happened to Papa’s glasses? Z: STEAM

M: Who would I have to callĀ  if you jump off the bed and bump your head? Z: THE DOCTOR

M:You don’t need your dummy. Z: I need my dummy. I need it NOW, mummy!

After mummy’s hair cut. Z: I want to cut my hair. M: You’ve already had a hair cut. Z: I need a hair cut.

Riding off on her ride along car. Z: Bye, mum. See you later. M: Where are you off to? Z: Gym

Trying Tandoori Chicken for the first time. Z: Oh, it’s spicy.

Despite being proud of my little one, I’ve not edited the sentences. She actually said them and that is what thrills me to bits! Here’s one more before we head off to bed…

M: Shall we go and read some books now? Z: Umm, no.

P: Give that back to Martha. Z handing it over. Z: Martha, stop. That’s mine. (Little fibber! Hahahaha…) We must stop now and really get to bed.

I’ve been counting down the days and weeks. I’ll probably stop one day and it’d just be years that I’d be counting. However, each day is so special that I want, I need, to grab it, keep it and cherish it.

1. Stripes and spots: You know them and draw them. Thanks Nick Sharrat and my first pocket library of colours, opposites, patterns and numbers. You’re in my spotlight, darling.

2. Having eaten a bikkie in your bed. Z:”Mess. It’s mess.” Pointing at crumbs to Papa who has obviously got to clean it up.

3. Watching Maisy play hospitalĀ  with Tallulah on Youtube. Z:”Mummy say ‘ah'”. So mummy said, “Ahhhh….”

4. Mummy hadn’t posted this in MONTHS!!!

One day I’ll wake up and you’ll be speaking… December 28, 2011

…in sentences!

20 months

1. Toy car – Z: “Mummy. Broken” Giving me the car without its tyre. M: “Yes, it’s broken. Sorry, darling.” Z: “Oh, nevermind.”

Nevermind? You rock, girl.

2. Looking at the hair dryer box – Z: “Mummy dry hair.”

3. Bedtime – Z lying in cot: “Mummy sit down.” so I can be next to her as she falls asleep.

4. Brown Bear, Brown bear What do you see? Z:”I see mummy…at me.” Z: “I see me.” You are cupcake gorgeous.

5. The day before you turn 21 months. M: Singing ‘Teddy Bear’ songs. Z: “More teddy bear songs.” when I was done. We did this 3 times!

6. That same day. Stacking up the blocks with animal faces. Block 9 has a polar bear. Z runs to get her Polar Bear book, points to picture and says, “Same”. Then, points to Christmas card from Uncle Adam and Aunty Cathy with 2 polar bears and says, “Same”. You amaze me. You are different everyday.

1.Birth weight: 3040g, 3mths:6100g! I now have tendonitis. The nasty sure hurts both wrists when I have to carry you. Bel said she suffered from it for 2yrs with her firstborn. I hope it eases away real soon. It’s driving me insane.

2. You have moved up 3 diaper sizes from NB-M: I was so excited, went crazy and bought an 84-diaper bag! I like the fit on you. It’s like Tim Gunn’s make over.

3. You have learnt to grab certain things that grab (mind the pun) your attention. Crinkly Mr Caterpillar’s legs are a hit with you. Thank you Uncle Adam for that wonderful gift.

4. 24th June: I noticed you’ve discovered your right hand and have been staring at your fingers. Those cute metacarpals which I’d like to chomp on. Well, you love shoving them in your mouth. YUMS
